Team Building Activities in San Francisco
SF team building activities with a real score: racing and flight simulators and a live leaderboard, in your SoMa office, on a Presidio lawn or in Golden Gate Park.

Team building activities in SF for tech and biotech teams
Pick a contest with a visible score and no learning curve, so nobody needs a tutorial before the first round.
A racing league for SoMa tech floors
Salesforce, Uber, Airbnb, OpenAI and Databricks are all based in the city, and their teams sit on open floors in SoMa and Mission Bay. A racing league fits that floor: each team sends drivers, laps go on one board, and a turn takes about two and a half minutes, so people come back between meetings.
Networking for teams that just merged
New hires and a newly merged team need to meet the right people fast. For TEC6 we ran an AI Networking Matchmaker that paired guests by what they offer and who they want to meet, with a racing simulator in the next room for the informal part.
A lab-friendly challenge in South San Francisco
Biotech teams down the Peninsula spend the day on precise work. A flight landing challenge rewards a steady hand, and the operator shortens each attempt when the line grows.
Escape rooms, virtual sessions and other formats are on our corporate team building page.
Where San Francisco teams hold team building
Pick a place by your team's commute and the weather plan. These four options run from the office to the park.
Your office in SoMa or Mission Bay
The easiest option for a weekday. Two cockpits fit a large meeting room, and four stations on one leaderboard work on an open floor. We agree the loading dock, the elevator and the building's insurance needs before the day.
Presidio lawns
The Presidio rents its lawns through special use permits, with the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz in view.
Golden Gate Park meadows
1,017 acres and more than three miles long, with open meadows such as the Polo Fields, Sharon Meadow and Hellman Hollow. A team day here goes through SF Rec and Park; the rules are below.
Salesforce Park, SoMa
A 5.4-acre park on the roof of the Salesforce Transit Center, with an amphitheater and an aerial tram from the street. It's a short walk from most SoMa offices for an end-of-day gathering.

What your SF team day includes
One booking covers the activity, the people who run it and the building or park logistics.
- Stations and a live leaderboard. Racing or flight simulators, a separate scoreboard screen and your prize places.
- Hosts for every round. They brief first-timers, keep the line moving and call the finals.
- Paperwork for the venue. Insurance documents for your building or venue on request.
- Final standings. We send the leaderboard after the event for your Slack or newsletter.
- One crew, two bases. We have an office and warehouse in Orlando and a base in Los Angeles, and we work across the U.S. Stations and hosts travel together.

What shapes your San Francisco quote
- The number of stations, hosts and hours.
- An office, a Presidio lawn or a Golden Gate Park meadow.
- A tent and outdoor setup for a park date.
- Travel and your date.
- Branding, prizes and extra screens.
You'll see the full cost before you commit. Every event gets a custom quote, and in San Francisco it moves with:
Each line is explained on how we quote.

San Francisco park rules for team events
Outdoor team building in San Francisco works when the permit is in place. These rules come from SF Rec and Park.
- When it becomes a special event. Speakers, a stage, a tent, barricades or fences turn a team picnic into a special event.
- When to apply. At least 60 days before the date, and no more than one year ahead.
- Sound. Any amplified sound also needs its own Amplified Sound Application.
- Large groups. An event with 1,000 or more guests completes an ADA public event checklist.
- Late cancellations. Cancel within 30 days of setup and the park keeps all facility fees, so fix the date before you book.
In the Presidio, lawns and fee-based outdoor programs need their own permits, separate from the city parks. A paid outdoor program there needs an outdoor business permit.
Questions about team building in San Francisco
Can you run team building in our San Francisco office?
Yes, from a SoMa loft to a Mission Bay campus floor. Send the floor plan and your building's vendor rules. We check the freight elevator size before we pick the stations.
Is it too foggy for an outdoor team day in summer?
Often, near the ocean and the bay. Summer afternoons are cool and gray, and September is usually the warmest month. For a June or July date, we bring a tent and keep an indoor room on hold.
Do we need a permit for a team day in Golden Gate Park?
Yes, if you bring speakers, a tent or a stage. That makes it a special event with SF Rec and Park, and the application goes in at least 60 days ahead.
Can the crew come outside the city?
Yes. The crew also comes to Oakland, the Peninsula and the biotech campuses of South San Francisco. Send the address and we'll check access.
Can you add a photo booth to the holiday party?
Yes. A December party here stays indoors, in your office or a SoMa venue like the Aviary at the Metreon, and the booth fits next to the stations. See photo booth rental in San Francisco.
What about a corporate retreat from San Francisco to wine country?
Yes. We bring the stations and hosts to your retreat venue in Napa or Sonoma. Send the address, and we'll check the room and the load-in.
Which weeks are hardest for a team day in San Francisco?
Conference weeks at Moscone: GDC on March 1 to 4, 2027, RSAC on April 5 to 8, 2027, and Dreamforce in September. SoMa venues and hotels fill those weeks, so plan your team day around them or book it early.
