What a DMC in Atlanta handles for your group

A destination team on the ground keeps your agenda on time in a city where the 10-mile airport run depends on one crowded highway.

Most groups land at Hartsfield-Jackson, 10 miles south of Downtown. The airport has two separate terminal complexes: the Domestic Terminal on the west side and the Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal on the east. A greeter at the wrong one means a lost guest, so we place hosts by flight list.

From the airport, every coach runs up the Downtown Connector, where I-75 and I-85 share one road through the city. At its busiest point it carries more than 437,000 vehicles a day, and it ranks among the ten most congested interstate stretches in the country. We build transfer times around that road, not around a map app's best case.

Our destination management services page explains what a DMC does in any city. Here's how it works in Atlanta.

Hotels, dinners and outings across Atlanta

The right corporate event venues in Atlanta keep your group within walking distance between sessions, meals and the evening program.

Peachtree Center hotels

The Atlanta Marriott Marquis has 1,663 rooms under John Portman's 469-ft atrium, the world's largest when the hotel opened in 1985. The Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Hilton Atlanta, Sheraton and Westin Peachtree Plaza stand nearby. A group split across two of them can still walk to one welcome reception.

Pemberton Place and the College Football Hall of Fame

World of Coca-Cola and the Center for Civil and Human Rights share Pemberton Place by Centennial Olympic Park. Across the street, the College Football Hall of Fame has about 50,000 sq ft of exhibit and event space. A group can tour the exhibits, then stay for a private dinner on the same floor.

The Fox Theatre in Midtown

The Fox opened on Peachtree Street on Christmas Day 1929 and seats 4,665. Its Egyptian Ballroom and Grand Salon host corporate banquets, so a closing dinner can come with a show downstairs.

The BeltLine's Eastside Trail

The BeltLine is a 22-mile loop on an old rail line, with 16.7 miles of continuous trail linking 36 neighborhoods. The Eastside Trail runs from Piedmont Park past Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market. For corporate outings in Atlanta, we can plan it as a dine-around, with each course at a different food hall stall.

Atlanta weeks that fill the hotels

Knowing when downtown sells out lets you pick dates with room blocks and coaches still open.

  • January

Atlanta Market runs January 12 to 17, 2027, at AmericasMart, and IPPE follows at GWCC on January 26 to 28. Downtown hotels fill with buyers.

  • Labor Day weekend

Dragon Con takes five days from the Thursday before Labor Day; organizers projected about 75,000 guests for 2026. It uses the Hyatt Regency, Hilton, Marriott Marquis, Sheraton and Westin, and its parade closes streets between Centennial Olympic Park and the Marriott Marquis.

  • First Saturday of December

The SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. A holiday party that weekend faces tight hotel and coach supply downtown.

  • Late December to early January

The Peach Bowl, also at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

  • 2028

Super Bowl LXII comes to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and citywide demand will start months ahead.

  • Meeting at GWCC

If your group is in town for a meeting at GWCC, our conference planning team can run the sessions while we handle the city around them.

What your Atlanta program includes

  • Airport arrivals. Hosts matched to your flight list, and coaches timed to each wave.
  • Hotel and venue search. Room blocks and meeting space in Downtown, Midtown or Buckhead, chosen by where your sessions are.
  • Group dining. Private rooms, a ballroom dinner or a BeltLine dine-around, booked for your headcount.
  • Evening activity. Racing and flight simulators, VR and AI photo booths from our own stock, run by our operators.
  • On-site staff. Staff for registration, transfers and every activity, led by one program manager.
  • Venue paperwork. Insurance documents and load-in times agreed with each venue before your group lands.

One team plans the days and stays with your group, so you have one number to call for every stop.

Want branded photos at the welcome reception? Our photo booth rental in Atlanta brings an AI or 360 booth with an attendant.

What shapes an Atlanta program quote

You get one quote for the whole program, with each day and service on its own line, so you can cut or add without starting over. Every program gets a custom quote. In Atlanta, these details move it most:

  • Group size and number of nights.
  • How arrivals spread across the day.
  • The hotel district and its distance from your meeting venue.
  • Your dates, especially the big event weeks downtown.
  • Coaches, venues and private dinners at restaurants.
  • Interactive stations and the staff who run them.
How we quote

How we build your Atlanta program

You'll see the full schedule, hour by hour, before anyone books a coach.

  1. Step 1: Send the brief

  2. Step 2: Get the outline and quote

    • We reply right away with a draft program.
  3. Step 3: Lock the dates

    • We check them against the city calendar, then hold rooms and venues.
  4. Step 4: Plan the ground

    • Transfers, routes around Connector traffic and walking times between venues.
  5. Step 5: Clear the venues

    • Insurance documents, load-in times and any city permits for outdoor stops.
  6. Step 6: Arrive first

    • Hosts at every transfer, dinner and activity, with one lead on call.
  8. Step 8: Close out

    • We pack up, settle with the venues and send you a wrap-up.

City permits and airport rules for Atlanta groups

A few Atlanta rules decide whether an outdoor stop or an airport pickup goes to plan, and we handle each one before the trip.

  • Gatherings in city parks. A group of 75 to 250 people in an Atlanta park needs a Large Gathering in a Park permit. Apply 15 to 90 days ahead, or at least 30 days ahead if you bring generators or amplified sound.
  • Tents. A tent larger than 10 by 10 ft in a park turns the event into a festival, with a longer permit process.
  • No late filings. The Mayor's Office of Special Events denies late applications automatically, so we file on the first planning call.
  • Rail option. MARTA's Red and Gold lines stop inside the domestic terminal building and run to Downtown. Small groups with light bags can ride. Larger groups go by coach.
  • Event weekends. Big game days and convention parades close downtown streets. We route coaches around closures and confirm hotel loading zones in writing.

Questions about destination management in Atlanta

What does DMC stand for, and what does one do in Atlanta?

DMC stands for destination management company. In Atlanta, we run the ground part of your trip: arrivals at Hartsfield-Jackson, coaches up the Connector, hotels, dinners, outings and the evening activity.

Where should our group stay: Downtown, Midtown or Buckhead?

Downtown, if your meetings are at GWCC or Peachtree Center. Midtown puts the group near the Fox Theatre and the Coca-Cola and NCR Voyix offices. Buckhead suits a smaller retreat with client dinners near the banks and law firms there.

Is MARTA practical for our airport transfers?

For a few guests with carry-ons, yes: trains leave from inside the domestic terminal and run straight to Downtown. For a full group with luggage, a coach is simpler and keeps everyone together.

Can you add team building in Atlanta to the program?

Yes. Our racing and flight simulator contests run with a leaderboard and prizes in a hotel ballroom or meeting room. Indoors, they keep running when an afternoon storm hits in July, the city's wettest month.

Our company also exhibits at GWCC. Can you cover the booth?

Yes. We start with your show's manual: GWCC has no official union jurisdictions, and each show decides whether exhibitors set up their own booths. We bring the booth and the trade show entertainment for it, such as a branded racing cockpit or an AI photo booth, and our operators run it every show hour.
