Team Building Activities in Los Angeles

Book LA team building activities that pull the whole office in: racing, flight and surf simulator contests with a live leaderboard and prize places, set up on your floor, your plaza or a park lawn. We have two bases, Los Angeles and Orlando, and work across the U.S.

Team building activities in LA that fit a workday

The easiest team day in Los Angeles is the one nobody has to drive to, and a contest in your own building gets the whole team there without a commute.

LA offices sit far apart, from Downtown towers to Playa Vista and Culver City. A drive across the metro eats into the afternoon. When the activity comes to your floor or your plaza, people play between meetings and stay for the final round.

The format can match the industry. Aerospace teams in El Segundo and Hawthorne suit a flight landing challenge. Silicon Beach offices in Playa Vista and Santa Monica suit a racing league that runs all week, and studio teams in Burbank and Culver City can hold the contest on their own lot.

The format keeps them there. Short rounds keep the line moving, and a shared leaderboard gives the room something to cheer for.

All our formats, from simulator challenges to escape rooms and virtual games, are on our corporate team building page. This page covers the LA side: buildings, parks, beaches and permits.

Where LA teams play

LA gives you places for a team contest from a tower floor to a beach, and each one changes how we set up.

Your office tower

High floors in Downtown towers work well for racing and flight stations. Two cockpits and a leaderboard fit in a mid-size event room.

The plaza outside

Many Downtown buildings have a plaza at street level. It takes surf simulators and VR under shade tents. The plaza case below shows how we ran one.

Griffith Park

At 4,310 acres, Griffith Park is the largest city park with urban wilderness in the country. Its picnic areas take groups of any size the space can hold, and the park can supply an electricity hookup for our stations. The Observatory and the Greek Theatre are close by for an after-contest outing.

Beaches and Marina del Rey

Dockweiler Beach has 3.7 miles of sand and fire rings for an evening cookout. Mother's Beach in Marina del Rey has volleyball courts, picnic areas and barbecues, and Manhattan Beach has 115 acres of sand by its 900-ft pier. A volleyball round plus a surf simulator turns a beach day into a scored contest.

Campuses and studios

School lawns in Pasadena and second-floor rooms in Playa Vista have both hosted our stations. Studio lots in Culver City add sound stages for a bigger group.

What's included in an LA team day

  • Stations. Racing cockpits, flight simulators, surf simulators and VR sports, as many as your headcount needs.
  • Hosts. Our operators explain the controls, bring in the shy ones and run each round.
  • A leaderboard. One screen for all stations, with the prize places you choose.
  • Sound. QSC speakers and a wireless microphone for the countdowns and the prize ceremony.
  • Outdoor kit. Shade tents, power distribution and extra cabling for a plaza, a park or a beach.
  • Results. We send the final standings after the event for your internal newsletter or Slack channel.

You book one team for the whole afternoon: equipment, hosts, scores and pack-up.

What moves the price of an LA team day

Your quote lists stations, hosts and setup on separate lines, so you can see what each change does. There's no price list: every team day gets a custom quote. In Los Angeles, these details move it:

  • The number of stations and how long the contest runs.
  • The venue: an office floor, a plaza, a park or a beach.
  • Building access and loading times.
  • Outdoor needs: shade tents, power, sound and any park or beach permit.
  • Prizes, branding and a photo booth.
  • Your team size.

Racing challenge

Racing Simulator Challenge on the 55th Floor in Downtown LA

Capital Group wanted a contest people would fight for, so the organizer set ten prize places. Read the full racing challenge on the 55th floor: setup started at 9 AM, races ran from 2 to 5 PM, and each race took about three minutes. Neither cockpit sat empty for long.

Five Interactive Stations and AV for Capital Group's Summer Social

For a team day outdoors, look at the summer social on a Downtown plaza. Guests could surf, play VR baseball or hockey, or take a themed AI portrait. Four operators and one AV technician ran it, and our crew arrived at 9:30 AM to set up tents, power and sound.

How an LA team day comes together

You'll know the setup time, the access plan and the prize list before the day.

  1. Step 1: Send the basics

    • Date, venue, team size and the goal of the day.
  2. Step 2: Get the plan and quote

    • We send a station mix and the quote.
  3. Step 3: Clear the venue

    • Building access and insurance documents for an office, or a permit request for a park or a beach.
  4. Step 4: Set the prizes

    • You pick the prize places, and we set up the leaderboard and branding.
  5. Step 5: Set up and test

    • Our crew arrives hours ahead, so every station runs a test lap before the first player sits down.
  6. Step 6: Run the contest

    • Hosts at every station, countdowns on the microphone, scores on screen.
  7. Step 7: Pack up and report

    • We clear the space and send the final standings.
    • For the bigger picture, read how our events work, from the first call to teardown.

Building, park and beach rules in Los Angeles

The rules depend on where in LA you play, and we check them before we promise a date.

  • Office towers. Building management in Downtown and Century City sets access hours, the freight elevator slot and the insurance wording, so we ask for its vendor sheet first.
  • City parks. For an event at Griffith Park, Elysian Park or Debs Park, the city's Special Events Office asks for at least 60 days' notice. Picnics of 100 or more need park event monitors, maintenance and security staff.
  • No alcohol in picnic areas. Griffith Park picnic areas don't allow it, so plan the drinks for a later stop.
  • County beaches. Every organized group on an LA County beach or in Marina del Rey needs a Special Event Use Permit. Apply no earlier than 90 days and no later than three weeks before the event.
  • Tents in Marina del Rey. A tent needs a Temporary Sign/Tent Permit, plus Fire Department and Building & Safety approval.

We send our insurance documents to the building, the park or the county on request.

Questions about team building in Los Angeles

Can you run the contest on a high floor in a Downtown LA tower?

Yes. The Capital Group challenge above ran on the 55th floor. We book the freight elevator and the access window with building management.

Our room is upstairs with no elevator. Can the stations get there?

Often, yes. For Alpha School, we took a surf simulator up the stairs in Playa Vista to a second-floor room. Send photos of the stairs, and we'll confirm which stations fit.

How short notice can we book in LA?

EF Academy in Pasadena booked a surf simulator two days before its party, and the station ran on the night. Send your date first, and we'll check it.

Can you add team building to the holiday party?

Yes. We set up a racing or flight contest in your Downtown office, a hotel ballroom or a sound stage in Culver City, and the final round can lead into the awards or the toast.

Which weeks are busy in Downtown LA?

Big shows at the LA Convention Center bring crowds Downtown: the LA Art Show on January 6 to 10, 2027, Anime Expo on July 2 to 5, 2027, and the LA Auto Show in late November. For a Downtown team day in those weeks, we book the loading dock and parking early.

Do you also run team days outside the city?

Yes, in Anaheim and the rest of Orange County. For a corporate retreat near Los Angeles, we bring the stations and hosts to the resort.
